frequently asked questions

DO I NEED CLIMBING EXPERIENCE?
No technical climbing experience is required. However, previous hiking experience is recommended, and you must arrive physically and mentally prepared.
HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?
You need good overall fitness, stamina and determination. Regular hiking, cardio and strength training are the best preparation, and we’ll guide you before departure.
WHAT ABOUT ALTITUDE?
Altitude can affect anyone. We follow a gradual seven-day route, move slowly, monitor oxygen levels daily and carry emergency oxygen. Our guides are trained to recognize symptoms and respond when necessary.
HOW COLD DOES IT GET?
Temperatures can reach 20–25°C near the base and fall below 0°C around the summit, especially during the night ascent. You’ll receive a complete equipment checklist and personal gear guidance.
WHERE WILL WE SLEEP?
You’ll spend two nights in a lodge in Moshi and six nights in shared mountain tents for two. Sleeping mats, warm sleeping bags and a private portable toilet for our group are provided.
WHO CARRIES MY GEAR?
Porters carry your TSG duffel bag and the group equipment. You’ll only carry a small daypack with water, clothing and daily essentials.
CAN I JOIN ALONE?
Absolutely. Most of our travelers join solo, and with a maximum of eight people, the group quickly becomes a supportive team.
